How not to lock yourself out of your car
First things first, if you ever lock yourself out of your car, call SR Key Solutions at once. We’ll get you moving again as soon as possible (and we’ll be witty and wonderful company as we do so).
There is, however, an even better option than calling us when you lock yourself out of your car…and that option is not locking yourself out in the first place.
- Don’t lose your only car key. Read our blog post. You can never be certain you won’t one day watch in horror as your key falls out of your hand and down a drain in the street, so act now. Call a good auto locksmith and ask for a duplicate car key to be made.
Not many locksmiths are qualified to provide the expert one-stop shop of working with cars and property but we offer that service at SR Key Solutions. So if you lose your house and auto keys at the same time, we can not only supply you with new car keys but also change the locks on your home too. We’ll bring you peace of mind at speed.
- Don’t damage your only key either. Car keys really don’t appreciate life in a washing machine, so take care to empty your pockets properly every time you do the laundry. Again, act before it’s too late. If you only have one car key, ask an auto locksmith to make you a duplicate key right now.
- Don’t leave your key inside your car. Picture the scene. You want both hands free so you can organise your shopping in your boot. (Pack those eggs carefully!) So you casually drop your key on a car seat and shut the door. That’s fine, the doors aren’t locked…until your toddler inside starts playing with every button in sight or your dog innocently steps on the key. You hear that awful locking sound. Unlikely? Yes. Impossible? Absolutely not, as many people can tell you from bitter experience. Always keep your key on your person.
